Characters in Game (previously too): The GHB
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Kurloz Makara
Canon: Homestuck
Gender: Male
Age: Physically around 19. Has existed for eons, though, so his mental age is debatable.
Suitability: N/A
Species: Beforan Troll
Genitalia: Going with the tentabulge/nook situation with him, too.
Canon Point: La Cucaracha playing ominously in the distance was the last we saw of him, but I'll be taking him from present-canon, if it ever becomes terribly relevant. If anything, it just sort of implies he hasn't seen his friends in a little while, and he really doesn't care for Gamzee.
World/Setting: N/A
History: #:o)
Personality: Kurloz Makara is a pretty mysterious guy at face value. He at first appears to be a relatively harmless - if a bit unsettling - clown troll, but when one looks a little bit more closely at himself and his motivations, the real Kurloz Makara is clearly considerably darker in nature than that. He possesses an unfaltering loyalty to his Faith and his Lord, and will do whatever it takes to see that their goals are realized, all with a placid smile painted permanently on his face, to the point of self-destruction and at the cost of his own pride, when necessary.
On the topic of pride; however, he has that vice in abundance, even to the point of vanity at times. The way he carries himself is befitting of his class, prim and proper and princely to a T, always seeming to greet everything with a sort of placid smile and calm nature. Underneath it all, his actual self-worth varies greatly between the high sense of self-righteousness and entitlement that he projects to the world and a state that is only barely above rock bottom at a very generous best. He allows himself to be used and berated for someone else's goals, and is quick to punish himself out of guilt, as illustrated by the fact that he bit out his tongue and sewed his mouth shut immediately after deafening Meulin.
The Prince class is one that has been implied to be completely lacking in their own aspect, though as a Prince of Rage, Kurloz walks a delicate line between completely lacking in it and being completely absorbed by it due to his Highblooded nature. On a normal basis, he is possessing of a placid calm in all situations, though strong emotions will break that and be the cause of violent outbursts, at least in the case of negative ones. Hate for Cronus and his belief in magics led to such an altercation that the former's entire worldview became fractured, and guilt-ridden self-loathing led to a fairly extreme case of self-mutilation in addition to the breaking off of an otherwise happy matespritship. For a troll who is normally very composed and calculating, he is very much ruled by his emotions, and seems to have a difficult time keeping the negative ones in check. As we've yet to see any extreme repercussions from instances of mirth, it would appear that he has a better control over positive ones - or that he simply does not experience them as often or as strongly. Either way, the result is much the same. So as a result, when he does experience rage, his Highblooded nature and his Prince class combine to create a violent outburst where any thought is meaningless and one he may not remember himself afterwards, as a physical manifestation of said rage could be created in any number of ways, from simply lashing out physically to lashing out mentally, or with a more magical cant to it.
While he is protective of his loved ones, he is also extremely manipulative of them at the same time, using his voodoos to take control more often than they should know about "for their own good." He uses Meulin to further his goals in working for Gamzee, but doesn't allow her to remember it, in what could certainly be seen as a protective act, as there is little way of knowing how much she would approve of his actions. On a lesser scale, he also uses his powers to pacify Mituna, with it being said that the other troll is much calmer around his moirail, even if his addled head comes away from the encounters a bit fuzzy.
Mituna himself is an interesting case, as Kurloz was the only one present when he had the accident that scrambled his brains, but there is only Aranea's biased speculation to imply he had anything to do with it at all. It is certainly feasible, and within his power to do so, but still unconfirmed as to whether or not he did anything at all.
Abilities/Weaknesses: Aside from typical Highblood physical strength, this kid is well versed in the use of his chucklevoodoos (which are themselves outlined quite nicely in both Gamzee's and The GHB's apps, so it feels a little bit redundant to do so again here), and is therefore a force to be reckoned with when it comes right down to him actually using them. He specializes in communicating with them, first and foremost, though his prowess in mind-control and wiping memories is a close second.
Additionally, he is a Prince of Rage. The prince class can be summarized as "destroyer of [aspect]" or "one who destroys via [aspect]", but is outlined a little bit more extensively here. In canon, there are strong implications that his presence in the dream bubbles is what diffuses Vriska and Meenah's desire to go on a hunt for Lord English - and is what makes so many ghosts apathetic towards joining them in the first place - from the "destroyer of rage" aspect of his class, though that is not confirmed.
As for weaknesses - he's pretty loyal, surprisingly enough, to his faith, to his Lord, to those he respects, and to those he feels are important to him, and so he will do anything for them, especially if it is something he thinks are in their best interests or, in some cases, if he is directly ordered to. This does put him on shaky moral grounds sometimes, though, when mind control and forced memory loss come into play, but he will never be convinced that what he did was wrong.
Unusual for someone of his caste, he is prone to - and plagued with - nightmares, especially outside of a recuperacoon, so fitful sleep is a precious and hard to come by commodity.
Physically, he is prone to self-destructive habits and tendencies, ranging from indulging in catnip with Meulin to guilt-ridden self-mutilation to simply accepting his role in the un-life when working under Gamzee, and all the negativity that comes with it.

Well. It had certainly been a whirlwind of a day, that much was... terribly, unfortunately, obvious. From waking up in a strange place, to leaving said same strange place, to being assaulted by street vendors, rescued by an old... furriend... and then brought right back to the same strange place he'd started out with, Kurloz Makara had never had a day like this, though if what he'd gathered about this world was to be believed, it was only the first of many.
That left him to scrawl a signature on the contract (which itself was a very stupid contract, and he felt like he was signing his only recently re-gained life away), so he could go and locate this mistress and deliver it to her for his... induction. Of sorts. It was all really walking the line between overly legal and really rather cultish, and he knew he wasn't the troll to be making judgement calls on what could or could not be considered cultish in the first place, but there he was, walking past odd cloaked figures and preparing himself to be branded for this woman, of all things.
But it would make his precious little kittybitch happy for him to stay close. And the benefits and rewards other than that were... tempting, to say the least. So he resolved that he'd already done the signing part of signing his life away, and so all he had to do was step into her chambers and deliver the contract.
